AGM update

The following is the extract from the Clare Champion newspaper on the St. Josephs Miltown Malbay AGM: There was a very large crowd at the re-convened annual general meeting of Miltown St Joseph’s GAA Club. The outgoing chairman, Gerard McMahon, in his address, thanked all who worked for the club during his term as chairman and particularly his fellow officers, Francis Cahill and Tommy Byrne. He said while 2012 was a difficult year, he had no doubt the club would bounce back quickly. Outgoing secretary, Francis Cahill gave a detailed account of the club’s activities during the year while outgoing treasurer, Tommy Byrne reported that income for the year exceeded expenditure. None of the three officers sought re-election. Former Miltown and Clare footballer, Gerry Curtin was elected chairman. He complimented the outgoing officers for their work for the club. He said he looked forward to the challenges that lay ahead and with proper commitment and discipline by all the members, they can be overcome. He also called for more support for the club’s Lotto. The following officers were elected: trustees, Noel Walsh, Martin Marrinan, John Reidy; president, V Rev Canon Seamus Mullen; vice-presidents, Aidan Carroll and Martin Marrinan; chairman, Gerry Curtin; vice-chairman, John Cleary; secretary, Michael Howe; assistant secretary: Eoin McDonagh; treasurer, Sean O’Brien; assistant treasurer, Jonathan Wilson; registrar, Maurice Reidy; county board representative, Noel Walsh; finance committee, Sean O’Brien, Jonathan Wilson, Cathal O’Loughlin, Tony O’Connell, Gerry O’Connor; football development committee, Seamus Byrne, Maurice Reidy, Michael Murray, John O’Malley, John O’Sullivan; field committee, John Cleary, Michael O’Loughlin, Paddy Egan, John Reidy, Tomás McKenna, Robbie Healy, John Malone, Joe Talty, Willie Healy, Gerard Talty; Intermediate team management, David O’Brien (manager), Martin Curtin, Robbie Healy, Andy Tierney and Trevor Slattery.
