Cusack Cup medals presentation function

St. Josephs Miltown senior team will receive their medals for winning the Cusack Cup 2010 at a function at the Armada hotel on Wednesday 29th Decemeber. The medals will be presented by Kerry footballer and multiple All-Ireland winner Tomas O'Se. Tickets are available from local outlets, any committee member or management of the senior team. Please come along to enjoy a great night out.

AGM Report

The following is the report of the St. Josephs Miltown Malbay GAA club AGM as printed in the Clare Champion newspaper:

Cusack Cup win a highlight for Miltown

GERARD “Twin” McMahon is the new chairman of St Joseph’s GAA Club Miltown Malbay taking over from the outgoing chairperson, Caragh Griffin, who did not seek re-election.

The outgoing chairperson in her address, to the large attendance, highlighted the main achievements of the club during the year particularly winning the Cusack Cup. She thanked her fellow officers and the club executive for their hard work. She thanked those who managed and trained the clubs team and all who worked for the club during the year particularly the stand development committee.
The club secretary Shane O’Connell gave a detailed account of the club’s activities in 2010. He said, “The club’s momentum is moving in the right direction and while great work was being done at under age level and is showing fruit, more people need to become involved”.
He had a special mention for the senior team management and players. He congratulated Gordon Kelly on captaining the Clare senior football team.
The treasurer Tommy Byrne gave a detailed account of the club’s income and expenditure showing a closing balance of €3,260 in the clubs coffers.
The stand development committee chairman, John Reidy, reported on the development including income and expenditure to date. Phase 2, which includes the construction of four dressing rooms under the stand and a gym has commenced.
The committee, Martin Curtin, Maurice Reidy and Mickey Wilson, which had been assigned to source new officers for the club reported its findings. They proposed a full executive with four new members but had been unable to secure a new secretary. Mickey Wilson paid tribute to the outgoing officers, Caragh Griffin and Shane O’Connell
The following officers were elected for the coming year: president, Very Rev Canon Mullin; vice-presidents, Aidan Carroll and Martin Marrinan; club executive, Gerard Twin McMahon (chairman); Tommy Byrne (treasurer), Noel Walsh, Willie Healy, Michael O’Loughlin, Gordon Kelly, Francis Cahill, Tomás McKenna, Paddy Joe Egan, Jonathon Wilson and Cathal O’Loughlin; senior team management, Michael Neylon (manager), John O’Malley and Martin Flynn.
