Seniors fail to escape drop

St. Josephs Miltown senior side were relegated to intermediate for 2013 after another titanic battle with Lissycasey today in Cooraclare. In a game played in a very good spirit, a Lissycasey goal ten minutes into the second half was to prove the games defining moment. Miltown again enjoyed the better of the first half and lead 0-4 to 0-2 at the break. Unfortunately, a missed penalty for the second week in a row are moments that Miltown will think could have ensured safety. Joe Curtin assumed responsibility this week but luck was not on his side. In the second half, Miltown battled hard but the experienced Colin Lynch made some crucial plays following his introduction early in the second half. A Miltown side already missing players through injury lost Micheal Malone, Séan Meade and Enda O'Gorman to injury on the day.
