Draw in Cusack Cup opener

St. Josephs Miltown shared the spoils with KIlrush on a 1-9 apiece scoreline in the opening Cusack Cup game of the 2011 season. An experimental Miltown side played very well for large periods of the game but Kilrush put in a very determined second half diaplay to grab a draw. Miltown led by 1-5 to 0-5 at half time with Seanie Malone cracking home a fine goal midway through the half. Kilrush battled back in the second half to tie the scores on a 1-6 to 0-9. However, Miltown regained their composure and Joe and Eoin Curtin points looked to have sealed the win. However, deep in injury time Kilrush got an equalising goal following a scramble in the Miltown goalmouth. The team lined out as follows: Conor O'Loughlin, Enda Malone, Kevin Burke, David Cleary, Ian Sexton, Gordon Kelly, Gearoid Curtin, Dara McDonagh, John Meade (0-1), Enda O'Gorman, Gary Egan(0-1), Brian Curtin(0-1), Seanie Malone(1-2), Joe Curtin(0-2), Eoin Curtin(0-2) Subs used: Niall Quinn for Conor O'Loughlin (inj), Sean Meade for Dara McDonagh, David Talty for Brian Curtin
