Seniors defeated but advance to Cusack Cup semi

St Josephs Miltown senior side suffered their first defeat of the Cusack Cup this evening against Doonbeg but have advanced to the Cusack Cup division 1 semi final. Missing 10 players who would be likely to feature due to a variety of factors including, summer emigration, injuries, leaving cert commitments, Miltown were always up against playing Doonbeg and were defeated on a 1-14 to 0-8 scoreline. Miltown will now meet St. Josephs Doora Barefield in a semi final with the winners advancing to meet Kilmurry Ibrickane in the final. The team lined out as follows: Niall Quinn (0-1), Brendan O'Brien, Enda Malone (0-1), Martin Rynne, Enda O'Gorman, Gordon Kelly (0-1), Ian Sexton, Sean Meade, John Meade (0-1), Brian Curtin, Seanie Malone (0-1), Gary Egan, Dessie Molohan (0-3), Gerard Malone, Michael Hehir.
