Division 5 League 2015 Round 5

Miltown v Shannon Gaels

Miltown 5-7 Shannon Gaels 2-7

A glut of second half goals , three of them from Des Molohan gave Miltown their second win of the season in driving rain at Hennessy Park on Sunday.
Miltown started the game at a very impressive pace and had 1-1 to show for it after the opening 10 minutes ,the goal coming from Kevin Burke after Martin Mongan had opened proceedings with a point from play.
The Gaels fought back strongly and after a dubious enough penalty went in at half time leading on a scoreline of 2-4 to 1-4 with Miltown's other scores coming from the boot of Gary Egan (2) and Gerard Malone.
Miltown started the second half brightly and 1-1 from the influential Gary Egan put them back into the lead.
The introduction of substitute Des Molohan early in the second half proved to be the turning point in the game with the veteran forward securing a hat trick of goals and two points to secure victory for the home side which keeps them in the running for a semi final position with two games against Moy and Killimer to play.
