Adult teams remain unbeaten

It was another early season successful weekend for both the Senior and Junior A football teams. The senior side remain joint top of the Division 1 table after a 2-11 to 1-08 victory away to Shannon Gaels. A dominant first half performance saw Miltown lead 1-9 to 0-2 at half time. A Kevin Keavey goal and six Dessie Molohan points being the highlights. Shannon Gaels came more into the game on the resumption but an Enda Malone goal midway through the second half mentioned that Miltown were always in control. The team lined out as follows:
Conor O'Loughlin, Enda O'Gorman, Kevin Burke, Gordon Kelly, David Cleary, Shane Curtin, David Talty (0-1), Cathal Lafferty, John Meade, Enda Malone(1-0), Gary Egan(0-2, 1f), Gearoid Curtin, Dessie Molohan(0-7, 5f), Kevin Keavey(1-1), Michael Hehir. Sub used: Michael Neylon

The Junior A team are also joint top of Division 4 after a 0-13 to 1-4 victory away to St Breckans. Miltown were rocked back when Breckans raced into a 1-1 to 0-0 lead but Miltown settled to trail by 1-3 to 0-5 at the break. A second half scoring blitz from Enda Fox and Gerry Malone sealed a comfortable win.

On the underagre front, the under-14 team missed on a Feile semi final spot when despite beating Doonbeg, they missed out on victory against Doora Barefield. The under-16 team went down disappointingly to Kilmihil in their opening group game and now face Kilmurry Ibrickane in a crucial encounter.
