Solid Miltown overcome Liscannor

Cusack Cup

Miltown 1-8 Liscannor 0-8 @ Miltown

A Kevin Keavey goal early in the first half proved to be the decisive score for Miltown in what was a solid display against Liscannor. Gearoid Curtin & Gary Egan points had Miltown in front before Keavey scored from what seemed an impossible angle to give the home side an early boost in this physical encounter. Gordon Kelly added a further point from full back to leave St.Joseph's 2 up at the break 1-3 to 0-4.
Miltown added five points in the second half, the first coming from the boot of Michael Hehir. Keavey got a point to take his total to 1-1, before frees from Dessie Molohan & Gary Egan maintained St.Joseph's advantage. Liscannor were hanging on at this stage and disappointingly Miltown should have been more in front. Wing forward Enda Malone completed Miltown's scoring with a nice point minutes from the end.
