Minors reach 'A' semi final

St. Josephs Miltown u-18 side produced a battling display to defeat last years champions Doora Barefield on a 0-9 to 1-5 scoreline. They now have qualified for a semi final spot with a draw to take place to determine the pairings. All the four quarter finalists from Miltown's group are through with Ennistymon, Kilmihil and Kilmurry Ibrickane also winning their quarter final games. Miltown lead by 0-6 to 0-1 at half time on Saturday having played with the breeze. Doora Barefield dominated the opening twenty minutes of the second half and looked to be in the driving seat when they struck for a goal to lead by 1-5 to 0-7 with ten minutes left. Cathal Hogan equalised for Miltown but was dismissed shortly after on a second yellow. In the closing minutes, Conor Cleary struck over a superb free from 50 metres out for the winner. The scorers on the day were: Cathal Hogan 0-5, Eoin Cleary 0-2 & Conor Cleary 0-2.
