Derby win for U12s

Group 2 - Round 3

Miltown 4-8 Kilmurry Ibrickane 2-5

Miltown's first home game in the U12 championship was a local derby with neighbours Kilmurry Ibrickane. Kilmurry played with the aid of a strong breeze in the first half but only led by 1 point at half time, 1-4 to 1-3 due to some excellent defending from Euan Reidy, Cillian O'Malley & Saul Boyd. Miltown's goal came from Zack Whelehan, who had an excellent game at wing forward for the home side. Cian Flanagan, at midfield, was excellent throughout the game. Kilmurry started the second half brightly, but Whelehan goaled again, after he was put through by Micheal Murray, to put Miltown ahead. Further goals from Murray and Oisin Looney gave Miltown a deserved win.
