O'Gorman Cup

Miltown 3- 6  O'Currys 1 -5

Miltown got their 2014 season off to a winning start against upcoming Championship opponents O'Currys in the O'Gorman Cup on Saturday in a breezy but dry Hennessy Park.
After a slow start Miltown began to exert a lot of pressure on the O'Currys defence with Micheal Malone and John Meade prominent in the midfield exchanges.
Two goals and a point from Eoin Curtin and scores from Kevin Keavey,Micheal Malone,Joe Curtin and Gearoid Curtin all from play meant Miltown went in a t half time leading by 2-5 to 2 points.
Miltown again held the upper hand in the second half but found scores harder to come by with a number of goal chances going a begging. An O'Currys goal from the penalty spot and 3 points gave the visitors a glimmer of hope but a fine goal from the impressive Micheal Malone and a Gearoid Curtin point gave Miltown a deserved victory before their first Cusack Cup outing against Kilrush next weekend
